ASSISTANT CLINICAL DIRECTOR
Originally from the North East, Rachel brings extreme passion to her work as a primary therapist at Juniper Canyon Recovery Center for Women. She first learned about Wilderness Therapy when she was enrolled in a program as a teenager over 15 years ago. This experience is where she first learned about love-self, acceptance, and the power of healing through wilderness. After graduating from the University of Vermont, Rachel traveled the world but felt unsatisfied until she returned to the Wilderness field.
She has worked as a field guide at numerous wilderness therapy programs, including Legacy Outdoor Adventures and Juniper Canyon. She has also worked in a variety of mental health settings. Rachel worked at a residential treatment center and an addiction-based detox program, as well as at a non-profit therapeutic adventure program. After completing her Masters in Counseling at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, Rachel returned to Juniper Canyon as a primary therapist for adult women.
Rachel is licensed in the State of Utah and certified in trauma-informed therapies including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). She is also a certified PACT couples counselor.
Rachel loves working with clients at Juniper Canyon and enjoys getting outside herself when she can. Juniper Canyon is the work that Rachel has always dreamed of doing. She gets to work on an intimate level with hardworking and powerful women, and walk alongside them as she sees them in the office and outside in the wilderness.
