THERAPIST
Veronica has been working with adolescents and young adults in the outdoors for nearly 10 years. She entered the field of Wilderness Therapy in 2013 as a field guide, and quickly found her community. Over and over again, she has witnessed the power of wilderness to humble, inspire, and help people discover their most authentic selves.
After years as a field guide, Veronica continued her career in the mental health field working in various settings. She worked in an outpatient college counseling program, substance abuse treatment centers, and young adult transitional living. After Veronica completed her Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona, she followed the call back to wilderness and in 2019, started as a primary therapist at Juniper Canyon. She loves being part of the Juniper Canyon team. She is inspired everyday in her efforts to build a rich, female community centered around growth and recovery.
Veronica is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing),and utilizes a trauma-informed, strength-based approach with her clients. She also completed an attachment therapy intensive in 2021 and has loved incorporating those practices into her work with young adults and their families. In her free time, Veronica can often be found playing in the Utah desert – running, biking, or climbing with friends.
